COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • To prepare students to pass the AP BC Examination in May (to earn up to 8 college credits) and to be successful in high-level collegiate calculus courses
  • To increase speed and accuracy of student problem solving.
  • To make students use their noggins like whoa.

FLIPPED CLASSROOM

  • Watch the video lessons and take notes on your time (instead of "homework")
  • Complete problem sets in class (solo, with peer groups, with Hogan's help)
  • Problem sets are due weekly and there will be a small weekly assessment (open note)
  • Unit exams will be full-period (no notes)

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • I am generally available for office hours during 3rd and 4th lunch.  Check with me in advance if you want to make sure I am there to help you during lunch.  
  • When I am in the room, Room 209 is always open as a study zone.  There are tables at the back of the room available for study space whether I am teaching a class or not.

UNIT REVIEWS

​Unit Reviews are NOT the same as the exams.  The reviews touch on the main topics that will be tested but on the actual exam, you will have AP-level problems which can be tricky.  The best way to prepare is to ensure that you thoroughly understand the content before the exam.
